Bashy – Black Boys (BLACK HISTORY MONTH APPRECIATION)

As it is black history month, I think it’s only right we acknowledge that this tune ‘Black Boys’ by English rapper & actor Ashley Thomas also known as Bashy, remains a staple of Black British positivity.

‘Black Boys is a song that was released in 2007 & was classified as the black Britain anthem. The tune was set over a ‘Naughty Boy’ instrumental featuring singer Loick Essien, who gives us the legendary chorus.

On this track Bashy found time to praise pioneers in the black UK & US music scene as we can’t forget the opening verse “It’s like I love it when I see rich black men like diddy & nelly but was even happier when I seen Dizzie rascal getting albums or when he gets his face on the telly.Personally When he won his mercury, I thought well done. He's a black boy who’s just like me so like, his respect is due certainly.”

This will always be black excellence.
