THROWBACK SEGMENT: LUTHER VANDROSS – TAKE YOU OUT
Let’s do things a little different here! I want to give this 70’s sensation, velvet voice & legend superstar Luther VANDROSS his accolades, for creating a timeline of classical hits that me & you still cherish today.
VANDROSS released self-titled album in 2001 including one of his most famous track ‘Take you out’.
Many may be familiar with this song as it was an inspired sample for American rapper Jay-Z ‘Excuse Me Miss’, featuring prodigious artist Pharrell William’s, which was released a year after.
Possessing a tenor vocal range, Luther was sometimes called ‘The best voice of the generation’.
VANDROSS has cited as an inspiration for a number of artists, including: 112, Boyz 2 Men, Usher, Ne-Yo, Stokley William, Mint Conditions, D’Angelo & the list goes on!
Although the legend is no longer with us, his music will forever live on.
