South-London raised Afroswing artist Mic-L presents his new project ‘Growing Pains’ released early this summer 2023! 

Majorly known for his remix on single ‘Mujo’ which has been an anthem since its debut in 2015. Considering Mic-L’s breakthrough since then as an artist, with in between projects such as ‘Mic Check’ in 2018 he has given his fans a beautiful body of work titled ‘Growing Pains’. 

This project comprises of 11 tunes heavily influenced by the sounds of Africa infused with elements of R&B, as Mic-L’s velvet tone & mother’s tongue of Yoruba contributes to the sweet melodies. With tracks like ‘Outside’, ‘Gara’, ‘Finer Things’ & ‘Don’t you want me’ this is a non-skippable piece! 

Assisted with a few features such as Gino J & more, we are given a range of different sounds which allows the fans to feel different emotions as he lyrically takes us on a journey of ‘Growing Pains’.

How did your project come about?

My project was initially meant to be a sequel to a previous body of work I released, however after experiencing a series of events it brought about the new project name growing pains.

What is your artistic style? 

I would describe my artistic style as afrobeat based with heavy R&B influence. 

What advice would you give to aspiring black artists who are just starting their journey?

My advice to aspiring black artist would be to stay original to themselves and honest with their work, to not conform to what the industry may say sells but to make what they want to hear in the world. And most importantly be patient.
