VIA SERI is a female DJ from London, and she has taken the Amapiano scene by storm. She is best known for her energetic sets (which I can definitely vouch for) and flamboyant style – she takes her listeners on a journey of joy!

To some, she may be considered as a baby in the game as this black queen has been DJ’ing for 4 years now but shows skills of a long time professional.

VIA explains her love for music and the ability to use sound to create an experience was what influenced her to pursue the career of being a DJ.

Amapiano is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterised by synths and wide percussive baselines. VIA SERI shares that Amapiano found her; “I fell in-love instantly, there is something about Amapiano that is soul filling. It hits deep & is spiritual.”

I later on asked her what was her purpose in DJ’ing & what is one advice she would give a young black female trying to pursue the DJ’ing industry; “My purpose is to spread love & joy through music. To the beautiful young ladies know who you are, network, stand your ground & don’t be afraid to work.”
