Brent Faiyaz Album review – Wasteland

Brent is known for his shameless toxicity and expressing it in he’s music which is what makes his fans love him!

We also can’t deny the fact that the artistry displayed in this album ‘WASTELAND’ is undeniable a vibe especially if you are captivated by R&B/Soul.

‘Three skits at the beginning, middle and end provide an underlying narrative of baby-mama drama and betrayal that culminates in a devastating turn of events; it's all fun and games until people get hurt’

WASTELAND’ not only gives us music but a movie feel which depicts Brent’s diversity.

Features from a collective of eminent artists such as the legendary Alicia Keys – ‘Ghetto Gatsby’, Drake, The Neptunes –‘WASTING TIME’, Tyler The Creator – ‘Gravity’ & more.

As this is Brent’s 2nd album after releasing his 1st album ‘Sonder Son’ in 2017 leaving a 5 year gap which had created such an excitement online before it’s release, unfortunately didn’t quite meet the hype. Having said that, you do have the standout tracks such as ‘FYTB’, ‘Loose Change’, Wasting Time’ & of course ‘Dead Man Walking’ which was ranking in the charts top 85 in 2021.

All in all Mr Faiyaz probably didn’t quite hit the nail on the head with this album ‘WASTELAND’ however thrilled to hear what he’s got planned next.
